After ignoring my short story collection for the best part of the month I’ve finally taken a look with fresh eyes at the short stories I wrote in the last year.
First edit is complete.
Honestly, I’m not happy with most of them. I like the basic plots but don’t like the final execution.
They next step is to send the stories to various friends and relatives for their opinions. I’ve sent two off to the Netherlands already. Next week, when I get back from Nottingham I shall be emailing people a story each to read and critique for me. It’s useful having friends who are also writers and sympathetic family who tolerate my preference for writing/reading rather than having the sort of career they expected, one where I actually manage to earn a decent wage 🙂
