News that the Tories wish to place in community work all young people between 18-21 who become unemployed is a new low in the neoliberal attack on us all.
This is a measure that gives credence to the notion that our main political parties are ignoring the youth vote because it doesn’t yield results. As young people ignore the opportunity to vote they are seen as a fresh way to save money and are being treated like dirt. You’d think the parties might actually use this opportunity to embrace them and try to bring them into the fold but that’s not how economics and politics work. They will pay for their alleged apathy.
