My Review

Thanks to the publisher, author and Faye for organising this blog tour and for sending me a copy of this book.

In 2018 I reviewed another Tommy Twigtree book, and I wasn’t very flattering about it. The story continues in this book and the writing has improved greatly. The story is more complex and there are recurring characters – Tommy, the Bunny Bandits and Freddie Fox the policefox. In this book, it’s Easter weekend and an Easter Egg hunt is being planned. Tommy helps hide the eggs but Robbie Rabbit and his Bunny Bandits are determined to steal the eggs to melt them down. Freddie Fox to the rescue!

It’s a fun book with really good illustrations. I enjoyed the story, with the development of the reoccurring characters and the fun new ones, like Percy Peacock who pulls a cart. It’s definitely a read with parents or read-alone for more confident little readers book.

Author Information

Michael lives in rural Sussex with his wife. His story telling started when his eldest grandchild was old enough to appreciate a bedtime tale. Rather than read to her he began to craft stories about the trees, plants and animals that live in his garden. As time passed and a second grandchild also enjoyed these tales of adventure and daring, the stories began to create a whole world that lived and went about its business right in his garden.

His grand kids, Poppy and Rudi continue to enjoy further developments in the lives of the characters that populate these stories and Tommy Twigtree and The Carrot Crunchers is the first in a series charming garden tales.
