The Empty Hearse
Please excuse me while I fangirl just a little bit. I’m going to try to avoid spoilers as far as possible.
That episode was great; funny, well acted, and well written. The reactions of the other characters to Sherlock’s return were perfect, though Mrs Hudson really should have hit him with that frying pan. The many alternative explanations of just how Sherlock survived the Fall were taken straight from fan theories. It was incredibly funny, and very emotive.
Amanda Abbington’s Mary Morstan is a brilliant addition to the cast. I can’t wait to see how she develops.
Mark Gatiss is a complete and utter troll, rat basterd. I’m pretty certain he’s been trawling the fanfic. He gave the fans what they wanted, then took it away and gave us something even better.
I can’t wait for Sunday’s episode.
