My Review
Thanks to the publisher and Faye Rogers for organising this blog tour and for my copy of the book.
Tehya’s parents are divorced and this is the story of her weekend with her Daddy. They go to a fair, cook food, have a bedtime story and then have a picnic in a park before Tehya goes home to her mummy.
The story is very touching and I almost cried reading the last page. It is also a happy story of fun and learning together. Of familial love and a happy arrangement that allows the continuation and development of familial relationships. The illustrations are colourful and detailed. The writing is fairly complex and I recommend it either as a book for parents to read with children or for children who are starting to read independently.
There are some formatting issues that make some of the speech a little confusing at times.
Authors Information
Michael Cunningham was born April 27th 1971 and holds dual citizenship due to his parents studying over in the UK. He is from the Bahamas, lived many years in the USA but has resided over the past 15 years in the UK where he has mad his home with his wife. Tehya Cunningham was born Aug 4th 2010 in the UK. Both daddy and daughter have loved writing from an early stage and have dabbled in creative writing of short stories as well as poetry. The book was the conception of a wonderful idea to write together as per their tight bond, producing a children’s book of this kind especially due to the very significant movements and currents events and the position the world finds its self in today. We hope you feel the positivity and love on each page and that its transferred to those experiencing it.
