Lee is a tiny tiger who lives with his Mum in the safety of his treetop house. There he feels safe from the dangers of the dark jungle below. But one wild stormy night, Lee and his Mum are thrown to the ground and Lee is forced to face his fears in order to help her. A Tiger named Lee tells the story of a timid little tiger who refuses to leave his tree-top perch and go down to the jungle floor for fear of what may lie there. However, he and his Mum are thrown from the tree on a stormy night and the little tiger has to overcome his fears.
My Review
Thanks to the publisher for sending me a copy of this book and to the lovely ladies of Love Books Tours for organising this blog tour.
A simple, if factually inaccurate, (jaguars, tigers and lions only ever meet in zoos), story of learning that other people might be different from you but they’re not going to hurt you.
The story of Lee finding out the world isn’t as scary as he thought is adorable. The story is told in simple rhymes, is descriptive and rises and falls with the tempo of the story. It is clearly a book for reading to or with small children and the words can be matched to the images easily.
The colours used are so visually pleasing to me, and the illustrator has done a fabulous job of giving each character an individuality and quirkiness that stands out.
I love the rhyme, the illustrations, the lesson, the aesthetics of the colour scheme, all of it.
