My Review
Thanks to Maria Bucci for sending me a copy of this picture book and to Rachel for organising the blog tour.
Buddy teachers the reader to be a dog and scrounge for food, then they go to afternoon tea. While at afternoon tea, Buddy tells the reader about the origins of afternoon tea.
The story is fairly simple, but informative and funny. Buddy is a rather cute character, leading the reader through the story. The illustrations are colourful and really well done. They’re clearly digital art, with an animation/cartoon style.
I think this book will appeal to young readers 4 to 6 years old; the text isn’t the simplest, but it is simple enough for new readers to read alone. This one is going to my cousin’s youngest who will be 4 on Christmas Day.
Author Bio
I have always loved children’s books and, after studying various picture book courses, I decided to take the plunge and write my own. Hoping to educate and entertain, as well as involve the young reader, my debut also includes a bit of history. When I’m not writing, I enjoy taking the real Buddy hound on long walks and spending time with my family. I also love to bake, sing and paint but sadly, I have not mastered doing all three at the same time!
