Blurb

A short, mixed style poetry collection about not dying just yet – exploring
chronic illness, depression, trauma and finding moments of joy and love in
a painful world. Inspired by the authors own experiences with disability,
trauma, healing and then healing again, this collection captures the strange
existence of someone not quite living but still alive.

My copy of the book and a postcard from the author, who also included stickers, Beanies coffee sachet and a packet of viennese whirls in the package. Thanks Bee!

My Review

Thanks to Bee for sending me a copy of her book and the care package that came with it. The postcard is going on my wall of postcards in the kitchen.

A poetry collection about not dying just yet – exploring illness, depression, trauma and finding moments of joy and love in a painful world.

I was very moved by the poems in this chapbook. They touched a place in me that felt recognition with my own pain. Bee has a different disability to me, and has experienced different trauma, but I can still recognise and empathise with the pain.

The poems are a mix of short, almost-aphorisms, and longer works that explore events. The tonal shift between joy and despair and back to life is well-balanced.

I don’t know why Bee says she’s not a poet, because this looks an awful lot like poetry to me.

Author Bio

B.S. Casey is the pen name of Bee Casey, a writer, book reviewer, copy editor but above all a book lover. They wrote their first ‘novel’ when they were eight years old, the exciting tales of
Desmond the Bear (written in beautiful purple crayon and unfortunately lost to time). They have released two novellas, What If and Constellations, available now from most online retailers.

When not writing, they’re also a Random Things Tours reviewer too! Reach out for any extra content, interviews or just to chat at:
