Wrappa-Hamen is a wise-cracking, funny, slightly self-deceiving cat blessed by Bastet with the ability to walk and talk like a human. And eat like a human. A mysterious letter arrives at Wrappa-Hamen’s abode in New York, the home of Elena Knowall and her ancient Egyptian husband, the High Priest of Amen Ra, Gato-Hamen, and their son, Alexander, the reborn Pharaoh Wrappa-Hamen served thousands of years before. Elena learns to read the Tarot, much to Gato-Hamen’s shock and anger, especially after he interupts her reading for Wrappa-Hamen. Something momentous is going to happen to the cat.

The letter arrives from a woman in Bath, England, who wants Elena to write her biography. Elena accepts and the family, by one means or another go to Bath. Elens and Alexander fly, Wrappa-Haman and Gato-Hamen travel in the Boat that they arrived in New York on in the first book, via Stonehenge 1000 B.C.E. At Stonehenge they meet a mysterious Egyptian priestess. Arriving finally in Bath, the pair explore Bath with Elena and baby Alexander. Finding secret passages and discovering the mysterious woman from the Tarot reading and a dream Wrappa-Hamen has, the High Priest and Cat travel back to the city of Akhetaten in about 1330 BCE. The woman is Nefertiti, wife of the heretic Pharaoh Ahkenaten, and mother of Tutankhamun. They must find out why she has no memory of a period of 10 days and why she can’t die.

Ahh! Copies of my book have arrived!

A box of books turned No automatic alt text available.up this afternoon. My books, ten of them. A lot sooner than I expected. I’ve sold four already, so the rest are for the book launch. I’m considering ordering more, but I haven’t got enough money yet.

It’s rather exciting and i like the feel of the books. I’ll probably be making some changes for the next book, smaller text probably.

In other news, I’m working on the short story that goes with this novel. It might become a novella at the rate I’m going 😀

Michelle came through for me this afternoon and delivered my paperback cover wrap. It’s brilliant. She did have to nudge me to get the blurb done though. HIDDEN FIRE progress report

I’m still planning to publish my book Hidden Fire this summer. I’ve made some progress. A couple of weeks ago I printed the whole book out and have been slowly editing. It took me the best part of two weeks to go through the first 11 chapters, but this weekend I’ve really put my back into it (because I haven’t the energy for anything else) and completed the read through. I’ve made some changes to the printed version and I now have to go back to my computer and make the changes in the document.

Yesterday a friend from university shared a video about formatting a book for publishing on Kindle, so I watched that and had a go at it. I have saved the original document too, so it’s not a big deal if I mess up. I currently have a file with the book formatted for Kindle, and another for the print book. I’m sure there’s front matter I’m missing and I need to find out about ISBNs and bar codes, but I’m getting there.

I’m waiting to hear back from my cover designer, but Michelle is busy working on her second novella, The Deceived, the follow up to her recently published The Bound. It’s understandable that she wants to concentrate on her own writing right now so I’m not going to be pushy. There’s eight weeks yet until publication date.
