Phone Frustrations
Just a quick post from me this morning, I have a couple of things to do then I have to get some writing done, or possibly some reading.Continue reading “Phone Frustrations”
Like. Love. Trust.
“There are few people whom I really love, and still fewer of whom I think well.”
Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice
I would add to that ‘and there are still fewer whom I trust completely.’
Scrolling through the WordPress ‘Reader’ yesterday I came across this ‘Daily Prompt’ post:

The prompt was about ‘best friends’ – how you met, how the friendship has survived etc.Continue reading “Like. Love. Trust.”
Does anyone know a way to say ‘nest of vipers’ without saying ‘nest of vipers’?
I was lying in bed this morning, around half six, listening to the dog snore and contemplating getting up early. In the end I decided to stay in bed. I have some of my best ideas in bed; the shower’s quite a good place to find inspiration as well. I think it’s because my brain relaxes and the random thoughts have a chance to bubble up. Either that or I’m only half conscious and my subconscious uses the opportunity to nudge me in a sensible direction. This morning’s lay-in was quite a fruitful one.Continue reading “Does anyone know a way to say ‘nest of vipers’ without saying ‘nest of vipers’?”

I forget what I’ve actually told someone and what I’ve thought ‘oh I must tell such and such about that’. I live in my own head most of the time and always have done.
Get Through This
It’s been a fairly successful morning
Considering I’m feeling rough.
I’ve got a few ideas jotted down for future posts, finished reading and reviewed a book, added feedback on a book over at http://www.netgalley.com, checked my emails, mentally designed a set of cushions and then ordered the materials, and emailed for a review copy of a book I want to read.
I’ve even managed to eat a sensible breakfast. Next up, dress, dinner, walk the dogs. Might not seem like much but for me it’s progress.
It’s been an interesting day; Or, how I got rid of my recent writer’s block
I’ve been working a lot lately (yay money! Boo exhaustion!) and today is my first proper day off for two weeks. I am also sick again (physically rather than mentally this time round), so sick I had to leave work halfway in to my shift yesterday because of nausea. Bit of a problem that, when you work in a food factory.

Why I’ll not go back to paid weight loss groups
Anyone seen my picture? Yeah I’m overweight, and I have been for over twenty years. It’s a problem, I know it’s a problem; I don’t need reminding that being overweight is unhealthy, or considered to be not aestheticly pleasant in a culture obsessed by skin and bones.
I’ve tried going to Weight Watchers and Slimming World several times. I’ve spent stupid amounts of money on them, in membership, paraphernalia, branded food etc.Continue reading “Why I’ll not go back to paid weight loss groups”
