This morning I emailed a local magazine with several ideas for articles.

Books, ‘flu and starting therapy
It’s been a mixed week, here at Casa de Crazy Cawkwell
I’ve been very ill this week, with either an unusually nasty cold or the ‘flu, but the trip to Open Minds on Tuesday morning went well. Continue reading “Books, ‘flu and starting therapy”
Diversify Your Writing!
I’m sharing this post from story medic because I found it interesting and useful. All writers have their favourite way of writing, or personal writing ticks; I love semi-colons for instance. The advice regarding dialogue is also very useful.
Annoying myself
So, it’s official, I’m an idiot.
One of my coping mechanisms when I have stuff going round my brain is to write it down like a blog post then hit the little rubbish bin.
Except this afternoon I hit publish by accident and something was published that should never have seen the light of day. Luckily, only two or three people saw it, and one of them rang me to tell me. I’ve taken my rantings down obviously, and deleted the links I could find, but still the damage might have been done.
I’ve been ruminating on it for the last two hours, but now I feel better. Writing works as catharsis but I need to remember when it’s appropriate to publish my thoughts and when it isn’t.
I need to find a less risky cathartic outlet, just in case I forget. Again.

Alone at Christmas
And it’s been so good for me.
Tis the season to be jolly
Or not.
I had a bad night and today hasn’t been much better but I’m getting my head sorted. The things that were worritting at me have been dealt with, and now I’m trying not to focus on them until they are resolved. I’ve done my part and I can’t control the rest. Sorry
I am a terrible blogger; the day job is paying the bills but it’s really cutting in to my reading/writing time. I am getting some writing done but at the expense of reading time. For this month and next it’s possible book reviews will be sparse. I am still reading, it is just taking longer.
Now there’s a word I haven’t heard in a while…
I went to bed early last night (still ill 😦 so I’m getting tired easily); as a consequence I’m awake in the middle of the night. This is when my random ideas start to escape and if I don’t write them down I won’t get back to sleep.Continue reading “Now there’s a word I haven’t heard in a while…”
