First Come First Served

In December, with any luck, I will have a 2nd edition of both Hidden Fire and Fire Betrayed available, ahead of publishing the third FIRE novel, Fire Awakened, in the new year. I know it’s been a while but I’m feeling more up to writing and stuff. I got the new Prologue written for Fire Betrayed this afternoon and some corrections made to the text.

Anyway, I have three of each of the first edition left from my author’s copies. Normally I sell them for £8 each but to clear stock, as it were, if you buy Hidden Fire I’ll send you Fire Betrayed for free. £8 + postage.

Email me if you want a signed copy. I take paypal payments.

Cover Reveal! Bridas’ Justice

Bridas_Justice_Cover_for_Kindle.jpg

This is it, the cover for Bridas’ Justice. I decided to have a go at using the cover creator function in Create Space for this one. Mainly because I can’t afford to employ Michelle, my cover designer for the FIRE novels. All the planned Tales From Erce will have a white and blue cover with a relevant cover image. I’ve gone for waves on rocks with this one. You’ll see why if you read the story.

You can get your copy from Amazon:

Tales From Erce -Updates

The first of the three planned Tales From Erce, Bridas’ Justice will be available from next week.

With help from my sisters, it is now complete, has been edited and re-read, and is now ready to go to publication. I’m just getting the set up done on CreateSpace.

Bridas’ Justice is a short story of approximately 6500 words and will be available as a Kindle or paperback. The paperback will be the same dimensions as the FIRE books, so they’ll all sit nicely together on the bookshelf. The Tales From Erce  covers are blue, a nice contrast to the orange-red of the FIRE books. It wasn’t meant to be the first to be published, but Charley’s War is taking longer than expected.

The World Of Fire: A Tourist’s Guide To Albon – Hythe and King’s Ford

In a follow up to my previous post about Erce, I thought I’d take you to visit Albon for a tour. Albon is the home of my main character, Lizzy Albon. I present a leaflet from Erce’s Premier Travel Agency: The Traveller’s Union of Camar and Bemose.

A World of Fire: Welcome to Erce

Evening, we’re four days from the publication of Fire Betrayed. If you order your Kindle copy now it’ll arrive on your account just after midnight 1st December 2017. If you order a paperback copy on Friday you should have it a few days later. And remember, there will be some special offers just for release day.

Anyway, back to the point of this post. Erce, the world of the Fire Series, and the short stories that should be published sometime next year, is part of the story as much as any of the human characters. Part of writing the stories has been the process of feeling out the world the characters lived in. Erce built itself as I tried to work out why the Empress of Belenos would interfere in Northern Isles politics, or why attitudes to magic and technology would differ between kingdoms. Later novels in the series will bring up bits of information about Sumoast and the relationship between Umar and Camar that make sense in the context of the novels but opened up the rest of the world as I was writing. I had to put the information somewhere so it didn’t overwhelm the narrative.
