Sciencey LOL of the Week

This made me laugh but also made me slightly uneasy.

There’s a snobbish tone to it that I don’t like. I think it’s probably bad for science, and the image of the science community to be considered snobby. If people think that they will be discriminated against for not being ‘cultured’ enough then they might be put off going in to scientific disciplines.

My morning check of emails and social media was one of my favourite procrastination methods while I was working part time. Now I’m out of work I have resumed the morning email/social media rummaging.

I now have a finishing date

Friday. This Friday. Two days.

Bit scary really; I’ve worked here for six years.

I’ve had three and a half weeks more than I expected, so I don’t suppose I can complain too much.

A few days ago, as entertainment, my sister, mum and mum’s partner decided that when we sell the house and move out, to wind the neighbours up, we’d tell them, casually, that the new people were …whatever…It all got a bit silly.
